Your SRA Committee Members
The SRA Committee members all share a long association with Somers and a passion to ensure that Somers maintains its charm and character, especially during these times of high population growth and the expansion of Melbourne and surrounding districts.
The committee and its Office Bearers are a team of volunteers elected on an annual basis. We encourage community members to join the committee and contribute to the important work being done to protect and enhance Somers.

President - Kingsley Culley
Kingsley Culley is a retired engineer with a background in electricity, water and management consulting. He has lived permanently in Somers for eight years and lives in the Promenade Estate.
Vice President - John Hatton
John Hatton has a corporate background in Finance and Insurance and retired to Somers in 1999. John has owned property in Somers since 1978 and has been president of the SRA for the last 2 years.
Secretary - Ray McCutcheon
Ray McCutcheon, a retired engineer, has been a permanent resident of Somers for eight years after building a new home in Tasman Road. Ray took up the role of SRA Secretary in April 2008.
Treasurer - Anne Bartholemew
Anne and her husband “Bart” have had a holiday house in Somers since 2000. When Anne retired in 2010 after a long career in financial services, she and her husband moved to Palm Beach Grove to make their permanent home in Somers.
Committee Member - Denise Kempster
Denise Kempster has a nursing and health administration background. Having owned land in Somers for many years, she moved here permanently in 2003 to a new energy efficient home in Miramar Road.
Committee Member - Alasdair Macdonald
Alasdair Macdonald has a background in engineering, health administration, and management consulting for major health, transport and commercial organisations. He has owned property in Somers since 1973, and has recently retired and now lives in Haven Street.
Committee Member - Ian Taylor
Ian Taylor, a retired research scientist, has been holidaying in Somers since 1966 and has owned his own holiday house since the late 1970's. He has been living in his permanent home at Tower Hill since 1990.
Committee Member - John Copeland
John and his wife Denise have owned a holiday house in Somers since 1992 . When John retired in 2006 after a long career in Television engineering, they decided then to settle in Somers permently in their newly renovated home on the Palm Estate.
